Ink Review #152: Diamine Brandy Dazzle

DBrandyDazzle-2.jpg

Today's ink is Diamine Brandy Dazzle, from the original Diamine Shimmertastic collection in 2015. I promise I will switch back to non-shimmer inks tomorrow. I purchased my sample of ink from Vanness Pens

The color...

Bandy Dazzle is a medium brown with gold shimmer.

The ink drops show off so much gold shimmer.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium-low

Bleeding: None

Other properties: Low shading, no sheen, and gold shimmer.

On Step Forward 21 lb copy paper, I didn't have any issues with the ink-it performed well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Diamine Caramel Sparkle, Diamine Brandy Dazzle, and Diamine Cocoa Shimmer. Click here to see the Diamine inks together. Out of the three, Diamine Caramel Sparkle is my favorite. Brandy Dazzle is in the middle of the three, not as bright as Caramel Sparkle, but not as dark as Cocoa Shimmer.

Diamine Ancient Copper, Robert Oster Caffe Crema, and Diamine Sepia. Click here to see the brown inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a Waterman's Ideal 52 1/2 flex on Tomoe River paper. The ink struggled just a bit to keep up with the flex nib.

Overall, the ink behaves well and is nice, but I prefer Diamine Caramel Sparkle over this one.
