Ink Review #1797: Private Reserve Fast Dry Tanzanite

Private Reserve Fast Dry Tanzanite is from Private Reserve’s Fast Dry collection. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Tanzanite is a medium violet ink.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has some pretty gold sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 40 seconds

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: no shading, high sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper there is some feathering in all nib sizes as well as a bit of bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a Kaweco Sport Transparent Purple with a broad nib on a Taroko Breeze notebook. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, this is a nice ink but at 40 seconds dry time I wouldn’t call it a fast dry ink.

Ink Review #1796: Private Reserve Arabian Rose

Private Reserve Arabian Rose is from Private Reserve’s standard collection. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Arabian Rose is a dusky mauve purple.

I ran out of ink and didn’t have enough for the longer writing sample. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I enjoyed this ink. It’s well behaved and a pretty color.

Plum is a bright magenta, right in-between pink and purple.

Overall, I enjoyed this ink. The color is a bit unusual, so I don’t have too many inks this color. I would absolutely use this ink again.
