Ink Review #1794: Private Reserve Purple Mojo
/Private Reserve Purple Mojo is from Private Reserve’s standard collection. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.
*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.
Swabs:
In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has a little bit of green sheen.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
*For my writing samples I use:
Vintage Mabie Todd Swan (flex nib)
Taroko Enigma notebooks (68gsm TR)
Dry time: 15 seconds
Water resistance: Medium
Feathering: Low
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: Medium
Other properties: low shading, low sheen, and no shimmer.
On 20 lb copy paper there is some feathering in all nib sizes as well as a bit of bleeding.
Comparison Swabs:
Purple Mojo is closest to Colorverse Hayabusa. Click here to see the purple inks together.
Longer writing:
I used a Platinum 3776 Nice Lavande with a broad nib on an Odyssey notebook. The ink had an average flow.
Overall, this is a nice ink, but there is a bit too much bleeding for me.
