Archer and Olive Notebook

I’ve heard a lot about the Archer and Olive notebooks lately and I’ve been waiting to try one out. Luckily, I was gifted one for Christmas. This is the Silver Moon A5 dot grid version with silver gilded edges.

The details:

The notebook measures 5.75″ x 8.25” and features silver gilded edges, a black linen cover, elastic closure, pen loop and two bookmarks.

The paper is a very sturdy 160gsm with a 5mm dot grid. The paper actually feels like a super sturdy cardstock. I love that the notebook lays completely flat no matter where you are in the notebook.

Fountain Pens:

I’m so sad to say that every single pen/ink combo feathered badly.

While fountain pen inks feathered, there is just a tiny bit of bleeding and virtually no show through.

Pencils and Gel Pens:

Watercolor brush pens, highlighters, gel pens and pencils all performed perfectly, no feathering and zero show through.

Overall, I love this notebook for journaling with gel pens and pencils-the thick paper with no show thorough is great and I love the silver gilded edges. I don’t use fountain pens in it since they all feather, which is disappointing since this notebook is advertised as good with fountain pens. I would not suggest it for fountain pen use.
