Ink Review #439: Colorverse 18 Dark Energy

It's the last day of reader request week! Today's reader request is Colorverse #18 Dark Energy from Season 2 Astrophysics. This ink comes in a box set with both a 65ml bottle and a 15ml bottle of the same ink. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.

The color:

Dark Energy is somewhere between red and brown.

Swabs:

In large swabs there is a little bit of dark brown sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shadinglow sheen, and no shimmer

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was some feathering and just a little bit of bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Pelikan M800 Renaissance Brown on an ivory Hippo Noto Notebook. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, it has a nice pop of sheen in the larger nib sizes, and flows well. Colorverse does seem to have more browns inks than any other color.
