Ink Review #387: Colorverse #38 Soul

We are over halfway through the Colorverse Opus 88 collection. Today let's test out Colorverse #38 Soul. In each box is a 65ml bottle and a 15ml bottle of matching ink. This ink was designed to match the Opus 88 Picnic Brown fountain pen. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.

The color:

Soul is a light warm brown.

Swabs:

In large swabs there some interesting shading.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shadingno sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and just a little bit of bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a fine Jinhao Shark pen on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a slightly dry flow.

Overall, the flow was a bit dry for me, but other than that it's pretty well behaved. There is a little bit of shading, but not much.
