Currently: August 2017 Edition

I enjoy hearing what other bloggers are currently enjoying, so I thought I'd share my currently lists for the month of August.

Paper I'm using:

A5 Breeze Notebook-Taroko Design

A5 Leuchtturm Hardcover

Nanami Crossfield

I have reviewed the Leuchtturm and the Nanami recently, and I will post a review of the Taroko soon. I use all three of these daily. I'm excited for the Hippo Noto to come out. I'm getting rather impatient-I wants it.

Pen Cases I've been using:

Nock Co. Lookout in Barn Red and Navy

Nock Co. Sinclair in Peacock and Coal

Franklin Christoph Penvelope Six

I'm in love with all three of these pen cases right now. Let me know if you would like to see a review of either of the Nock Co. cases.

What I've been writing with:

Pilot Vanishing Point Raden, Broad nib

Edison Nouveau Premier Delphinium, Medium nib

Montegrappa Copper Mule, Fine nib

I just got a Pilot 912 FA in the mail yesterday, and so far I'm in love, but I can't say it's a favorite since I've only had an hour to play with it.

These are the three pens I've found myself reaching for the most right now. I love that it's so easy to change the nibs on the Edison and the Vanishing Point. The Raden VP combines two of my favorite things, Vanishing Points, and raden, so this one was a must for me. I'm a big fan of Edison pens, so I love having seasonal editions, and this most recent one is gorgeous. I will forever regret not buying the Water Lily version. The Copper Mule is just a good fit for my hand-I have big hands, and I like heavy pens, so this one is a winner for me. I love that it's starting to patina. I have no plans to ever polish it.

Ink:

Robert Oster Evening Sapphire

Robert Oster Tranquility

Robert Oster Deep Sea

These are the three inks that I'm currently obsessed with. All three of them are amazing. I've been super impressed by Robert Oster's inks lately, and have more reviews of his inks that will post soon.

What I've been reading:

Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, by Carlo Rovelli

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Empire of Storms, Throne of Glass series, book 5 by Sarah J. Maas (I checked this one out from the library).

I'm a big reader, I go through a ridiculous amount of books (354 so far this year, and yes, I count audio books in that number). Seven Brief Lessons on Physics is great for anyone who hears the word physics and runs in the other direction in fear. It's a short one, so it doesn't take too long to read. Fahrenheit 451 was a re-read for me, it's one I think everyone should read at some point in their lives. Empire of Storms is a great escapist read, I enjoyed it. Yes, my reading tastes covers all genres, and yes, I probably read to much. I mostly read while I'm up with my son in the middle of the night. If you have any reading suggestions, leave them in the comments below, because I'm hurting for good reading material.

What I've been Listening to:

The Pen Addict

Art Supply Posse

Mac Power Users

These are the three podcasts I listened to the most this week. I only have a few back episodes of The Pen Addict left to listen to. I've been listening to the back episodes of Art Supply Posse, and it makes me sad that they aren't making the show anymore.

What I've been watching:

The Big Bang Theory Season 9

The extended editions of the Lord of the Rings

Sherlock (BBC version with Benedict Cumberbatch)

The Big Bang theory is hilarious, the Lord of the Rings are classic, and Sherlock is interesting.

Food I've been making:

Brown Sugar Cookies, from Your Homebased Mom

Chopped Taco Salad, from Mel's Kitchen Cafe

Instant Pot Yogurt, from Team Yogurt

The brown sugar cookies are amazing. Don't let them cook too long or they will get hard. The taco salad is my favorite, but I use Ranch dressing instead of making the homemade dressing. The yogurt is fabulous with some homemade jam (for flavor) and granola.

Now it's your turn, what are your current favorites this month? Let me know in the comments below!
