We have finally hit the last of the Diamine Flowers set, today's flower is Cornflower. Diamine Flowers comes in a set of 10, but Cult Pens sells the bottles individually. The ink comes in 30ml bottles.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low

Other properties: very low shadingmedium sheen, and no shimmer

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and bleeding in every nib size. The extra fine nib spit out a bunch of ink and feathered everywhere.

Comparison Swabs:

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Monteverde Sapphire, Diamine Cornflower, and Diamine Tudor Blue. Sapphire seems the closest, but is more saturated than Cornflower. Click here to see the Diamine inks together.

Colorverse 13 Quasar, Monteverde Ocean Noir, and Diamine Majestic Blue. Click here to see the blue inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a broad Pelikan M805 Vibrant Blue on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a slightly wet flow.

Overall, I like the color, but it did have a few flow issues, random ink blobs and some bleeding. Monteverde Sapphire is a great alternative, it's more saturated and has a wetter flow.
