Ink Review #432: Diamine Misty Blue

The color:

Misty Blue is a beautiful medium dusky blue.

In large swabs there is just a little bit of shading, the color is pretty consistent.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low-there was just a bit but I think that's because I was using a really wet flex pen.

Other properties: Low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer. 

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and bleeding in the larger nib sizes, M, B and Flex.

Longer writing:

I used a broad Pelikan M600 Turquoise on an Apica CD Notebook. The ink had an average flow. There was some skipping, but it turns out that was the paper's fault, not the ink's (look for a review of this notebook later this week).

Overall, it's pretty well behaved, and I like the color. Diamine does a really great job, so it's rare that I find an one of their inks I don't like. This one's a winner for me.
