Ink Review #2241: Dominant Industry Leaf Green

Today’s ink is Dominant Industry Leaf Green from the Standard collection. Thanks to Yoseka Stationery for sending this ink over for review!

The color:

Leaf Green is a dark grass green.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has some shading.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 40 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had just a little bit of feathering and a few dots of bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Leaf Green is similar to Robert Oster Hemp. Click here to see the green inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a TWSBI Eco Transparent Green with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had an average flow, but I had some choked flow issues at the beginning. Once I got it going it wrote well, but it took half a page before it got there.

Overall, this is a lovely color, but I didn’t enjoy the flow issues I had with it. I would pass on this ink and pick a similar one like Robert Oster Hemp.
