Ink Review #2623: Inkebara Water
/Today’s ink is Inkebara Water from the Special Edition collection. My sample came from Vanness Pens.
*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.
Swabs:
In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has some shading.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
*For my writing samples I use:
Vintage Mabie Todd Swan (flex nib)
Taroko Enigma notebooks (68gsm TR)
Dry time: 30 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: None
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: None
Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.
On 20 lb copy paper the ink had feathering in all nib sizes and some bleeding.
Comparison Swabs:
Water is a little lighter and brighter than Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro. Click here to see the blue inks together.
Longer Writing:
I can’t find the photo of the longer writing for the life of me. I’ve looked and looked and looked, and I can’t find the original writing either. Just pretend there’s a beautiful photo of longer writing here. I used a Brook’s Charleston, with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has an average flow.
Overall, this ink is well behaved, but it’s similar to Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro, which I like better.
