This year’s exclusive ink for the 2019 St. Louis Pen Show, Meet Me in St. Louis is KWZ Butterscotch. The St Louis Pen Show is coming up this weekend. Butterscotch perfectly matches its name, an orange-brown with lots of depth and shading. Thanks to the organizers of the pen show for sending over a sample for review.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 40 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: high shading, medium sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper the ink feathered in all nib sizes and had a little bit of bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Butterscotch has a little more orange in it than Robert Oster Toffee, but less orange than Birmingham Golden Ale. Click here to see the KWZ inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a wet flow. I love this pen/ink combo-it made for lots of shading.

Overall, I love this ink-it has high shading, a nice wet flow, and a gorgeous color. I need to find someone to pick up a bottle for me, it would be perfect for the fall season.
