I've always loved purples, so today let's take a look at Monteverde Amethyst. My birthstone is Amethyst so of course I had to give this one a try. I purchased my samples of ink from Goulet Pens.

The color:

Amethyst is a beautiful, bright medium purple.

In large swabs there is some bright green sheen around the edges.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 15 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shadingtiny sheen, and no shimmer

On 20 pound copy paper the ink performed well, no issues that I noticed.

Longer writing:

I used a Pelikan 400N and medium Pelikan M805 Stresemann on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a lovely wet flow.

Overall, I really enjoyed this ink. The flow is wet and nicely lubricated. The color is beautiful, and it's one of the more affordable ink brands.
