Ink Review #743: Monteverde Wisdom
/Monteverde Wisdom Purple is from the Emotions collection. It’s almost summer so I’ve been reaching for fun, more vibrant colors, and I think this one fits the bill. Thanks to Monteverde for sending it over for review.
Swabs:
In large swabs there’s a tiny bit of greenish-copper sheen. I love how it shifts in-between both colors of sheen.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry time: 20 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: None
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: Low-there was just a little bit of bleeding in the flex nib on Rhodia and Leuchtturm.
Other properties: medium shading, tiny sheen, and no shimmer. The sheen was only visible in large swabs on Tomoe River paper, and even then there was just a tiny bit.
On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a bit of bleeding and feathering in the larger nib sizes as well as some feathering in the smaller nib sizes.
Comparison Swabs:
Wisdom is similar to Waterman Tender Purple. Click here to see the Monteverde inks together, and click here to see the purple inks together.
Longer Writing:
I used a Sailor Pro Gear Slim Purple Cosmos with a zoom nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a wet flow.
Overall, I love the bright purple color, it has a lovely wet flow and it’s affordable. It’s a yes for me. I have two bottles of Wisdom to give to readers, so join the giveaway below!
Update: Congratulations to Michael and Lea for winning the giveaway!
