One more yellow ink to go and then we will move on to some newer inks: Papier Plume Yellow. I purchased my sample of ink from Vanness Pens.

The color:

Yellow is a bright highlighter yellow.

Swabs:

In large swabs there is just a little bit of shading.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Low

Bleeding: None

Other properties: no shading, no sheen, and no shimmer. It’s possible that there is some shading, but I didn’t notice any since it’s so light to begin with.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a bit of bleeding and feathering in the flex nib but it did okay in the other nib sizes.

Comparison Swabs:

Papier Plume Yellow is very similar to Delta Yellow and Toucan Primrose. Click here to see the Papier Plume inks together, and click here to see the yellow inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Lamy Al-Star Bronze with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed most of the Papier Plume inks I’ve tried so far, but this one just doesn’t work for me. It’s so light that the only thing I would use it for is highlighting, but other than that it’s well behaved.
