So last week was all reader request ink reviews, and this week is all about the color blue, so to kick off blue week is Robert Oster Bondi Blue. I purchased my samples of ink from Goulet Pens (since their ink samples are 2ml I always have to buy 2 to have enough ink for a review).

The color:

Bondi Blue is a pretty summery blue.

The ink drops show off the ink's beautiful dark pink sheen.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low-there was just a little bit of bleeding in the flex nib.

Other properties: Medium shading, medium sheen, no shimmer.

On 20 pound copy paper there was a little bit of feathering but other than that it performed well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Robert Oster Blue Lagoon, Robert Oster Bondi Blue, and Lamy Pacific Blue. Click here to see the Robert Oster inks together. Bondi Blue is just a little bit darker than both Blue Lagoon and Pacific Blue.

Longer writing:

I used a broad Pelikan M805 Ocean Swirl. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I like the color of this ink-it's a really pretty blue. It belongs in between Robert Oster Blue Lagoon and Robert Oster Blue Water Ice. It's right in-between the two colors.
