I'm determined to make it through all of the Robert Oster inks, so today's ink is Robert Oster Fire Engine Red. I purchased my sample of ink from Anderson Pens.

The color:

Fire Engine Red is a bright red.

When pooled there isn't any ink, but it turns a slightly darker red.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None.

Other properties: Medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer

On 20 pound copy paper the ink behaved well, no issues that I noticed.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Lamy Al-Star Vibrant Pink on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I like the shading this ink has. The ink is pretty well behaved, and is a nice bright red. Give it a try, you might love it.
