Ink Review #247: Robert Oster Morning Mist

We are now into new releases week, so today's ink is Robert Oster Morning Mist. I purchased my sample of ink from Anderson Pens. Morning Mist is available in 50ml bottles.

The color:

Morning Mist is a light blue-green.

Since this is a Robert Oster blue-green I expected more sheen than I actually got, but that's okay.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 25 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low

Other properties: Medium shading, low sheen, and no shimmer. The sheen is only visible in the flex nib.

On 20 pound copy paper there was some feathering but other than that the ink behaved well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Robert Oster Turqoise, Robert Oster Morning Mist, and Robert Oster Marine. Click here to see the Robert Oster inks together.

Robert Oster Tranquility, Krishna Peacock, and Robert Oster Aqua. Out of these three, Tranquility is my favorite. Tranqility is a bit darker than Morning Mist, and has more sheen. Click here to see the teal inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with a vintage 400N nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, it's a pretty ink, and rather well behaved too. I love all shades of teal, so this ink is a winner for me, but I do think I like Robert Oster Tranquility a more than this one if I had to choose between the two. Give it a try, you might love it.
