Blue week is coming to an end. Today's blue ink is Robert Oster School Blue. I purchased my samples of ink from Goulet Pens

The color:

School blue is a dark blue with shading.

In large swabs on Tomoe River the ink almost looks a little bit more teal.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low

Other properties: Medium shading, medium sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 pound copy paper there was just a tiny bit of feathering but other than that it performed really well.

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Robert Oster Soda Pop Blue, Robert Oster School Blue, and Robert Oster Blue Water Ice. Click here to see the Robert Oster inks together. School Blue is darker than both Soda Pop Blue and Blue Water Ice.

Robert Oster Lake of Fire, Robert Oster Frankly Blue, and Robert Oster Fire and Ice. Click here to see the blue inks together. All three of these inks have more green in them than School Blue.

Longer writing:

I used a broad Pelikan M805 Ocean Swirl on Tomoe River paper. I really enjoyed this combo. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I really like this ink. It has some nice shading and sheen, and is a nice color.
