Ink Review #1523: Taccia Black Jeans

Taccia Black Jeans is from the Jeans collection. It is available in 40ml glass bottles. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The Color:

Black Jeans is a medium black with some sheen.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper you can see the sheen easier.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shading, high black sheen, and no shimmer.

On Walmart 20lb copy paper there was quite a bit of feathering and bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a Pilot Custom 823 Smoke with a broad nib on a Taroko Breeze notebook. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, this is a nice black ink. It does have some black sheen, but other than that it’s a classic black ink. I don’t love it more than the other black inks I already have full bottles of so I don’t need more than a sample of this one.
