The color:

Daidai orange is a classic bright orange. I would call it a summery orange.

Swabs:

In large swabs the color is pretty consistent, no shading or sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer. There’s a little bit of shading, but not a lot.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in the larger nib sizes and a tiny bit of bleeding in the flex nib.

Comparison Swabs:

There are a lot of oranges in this color. Shukei seems the most similar in color and flow. Click here to see the Taccia inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl on Tomoe River 68gsm. The ink had a wet flow.

Overall, it’s a nice classic orange, with just a little bit of shading. It’s a nice color and pretty well behaved too.
