Ink Review #2727: Teranishi Guitar Emotional Olive

Today’s ink is Teranishi Guitar Emotional Olive. You can find this ink for sale at some retailers including Vanness Pens. Thanks to the reader who sent this ink over for review!

The color:

Emotional Olive is right in-between an olive and a chartreuse.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink looks more olive on the darker shading and more chartreuse on the lighter shading.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm, as well as on cheap copy paper.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 15 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: high shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had some feathering and bleeding in all nib sizes.

Comparison Swabs:

Emotional Olive is semi-similar to most of these other greens. Click here to see the green inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Kaweco Sport Olive with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has an slightly dry flow-I primed the feed halfway down the page to get a little better flow.

Overall, I like this ink. I don’t love it as much as I love the other Teranishi inks I’ve tried so far, but this one is still a good one. I love the shading, and after I finished the full review testing I added some White Lightning (ink additive) to my sample and I enjoyed it a lot more.
