Van Dieman's Harvest Yellows

Today’s five inks are from the Van Dieman’s Harvest Collection. You can find these inks for sale at Vanness Pens.

Swabs:

Left to right: Peanut Brittle, Apple Cider, Beeswax, Wasabi and Zucchini.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 30-60 seconds

Water Resistance: Low-Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: Peanut Brittle and Apple Cider had medium shading. The rest had low shading.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was lots of feathering in every nib size as well as some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Peanut Brittle is closest to Robert Oster Aussie Gold.

Apple Cider is closest to IWI Grain in Ear.

Beeswax is similar to Vinta Sunrise Hanan.

Wasabi is a little bit darker than Diamine Apple Glory.

Zucchini is a little bit lighter than Colorverse Interstellar Space.

Beeswax and Wasabi had a dry flow and the rest had average flows.

Overall, Peanut Brittle is my favorite out of the five. I had some flow issues with Wasabi-for some reason I couldn’t get it to flow nicely.
