Ink Review #1888: Diamine Registrar's

Let’s take a look at Diamine Registrar’s Ink today. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Registrar’s is a deep blue black.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink looks much darker, almost black in places.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: High

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink performed well, just a little bit of feathering.

Comparison Swabs:

Registrar’s is darker than these other blue black inks. Click here to see the blue black inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a TWSBI Mini Rose Gold with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had a dry flow.

Overall, this is a fabulous ink! It’s nice and dark with high water resistance. It starts out as a medium blue and dries to a deep blue black. A full bottle is on my wish list!
