Ink Review #2142: Dominant Industry Fairy Forest

Today’s ink is Dominant Industry Fairy Forest from the Dominant Industry Pearl collection. Thanks to Yoseka Stationery for sending this ink in for review!

The color:

Fairy Forest is a light blue-green with shimmer.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has plenty of shimmer.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and silver shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had just a little bit of feathering and some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Fairy Forest is a little less green than Tono & Lims Phosphollite. Click here to see the teal inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Franklin-Christoph 45 in Vanness Blue with a broad nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had a dry flow.

Overall, I love the color, but it can be too light in the smaller nib sizes. I would stick to medium and broad nibs with this ink.
