Ink Review #1250: Monteverde Monteverde Green

Monteverde Monteverde Green has been on my list to try for a while. I’m trying to finish reviewing all of the Monteverde inks so it’s Monteverde Green’s turn today. You can find this ink at Pen Chalet (aff. link) or Vanness Pens.

The color:

Monteverde Green is a dark forest green.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has a little bit of shading and some red sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, low red sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was some feathering in most nib sizes but no bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a TWSBI Eco Transparent Green with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had a slightly wet flow.

Overall, this is a lovely green ink. I think I will reach for it more in the winter due to the dark cool tone, but it’s worth a try, especially at the current low price.
