Diamine Inkvent 2022 Days 16-20

It’s time to take a look at the Diamine Inkvent 2022 Calendar, days 16-20. You can find the Inkvent Calendar for sale at a few different places, including Goldspot Pens. (It seems Arctic Blast and Pick Me Up got switched in my advent. By the time I realized it, the reviews were already done so I’m just gonna run with it.)

Swabs:

Left to right: Serendipity, Flame, Olive Swirl, Silent Night and Pick Me Up.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 40-60 seconds

Water Resistance: Low-Medium

Feathering: Pick Me Up had high feathering.

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Pick Me Up had high bleeding.

Other properties: Serendipity had low shading, medium red sheen and copper shimmer. Flame had low shading. Olive Swirl had medium shading and green shimmer. Silent Night had medium shading and low red sheen. Pick Me Up had a little bit of green sheen and is scented.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was lots of feathering in every nib size as well as lots of bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Serendipity is similar to Colorverse NGC 1850.

Flame is close to Montblanc Lucky Orange.

Olive Swirl is a little bit bluer than Diamine Razzmatazz.

Silent Night is close to Standard Bindery Luna Tone.

Pick Me Up is similar to Diamine Chocolate Brown.

All the inks had an average flow except Pick Me Up, which had a wet flow.

Overall, I don’t like Pick Me Up-there’s way too much bleeding and feathering for me (this is common for scented inks, they just don’t perform well). Olive Swirl and Silent Night are my favorite out of the five.
