Ink Review #534: 3 Oysters Chili Red

We are going to get through some of the 3 Oysters inks today, let’s start the day off with Chili Red from the Delicious collection. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review.

The color:

Chili Red is a bright, vibrant red.

Swabs:

In large swabs the ink looks less vibrant, more subdued.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 90 seconds-this ink takes a LONG time to fully dry.

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in all nib sizes and some bleeding in the flex nib.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl on a Midori MD Notebook. The ink had a dry flow, but did not have any skipping issues in this pen.

Overall, this ink is drier than I like, and takes a LONG time to dry. It’s not an ink I need a full bottle of, but I really like the color.
