This week we are testing out the Diamine Flowers Set. Usually this set is only available in 10-bottle sets, but I found that Cult Pens sells the bottles individually. Today's flower ink is Diamine Burgundy Rose.

The color:

Burgundy Rose is a dark rose red.

Swabs:

In large swabs there wasn't much shading, the color is pretty consistent.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shadingno sheen, and no shimmer

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering and just a little bit of bleeding, mainly in the flex nib.

Comparison Swabs:

Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Diamine Burgundy Royale, Diamine Burgundy Rose, and Kyo-no-oto 6 Adzukiiro. Burgundy Royale seems the closest to Burgundy Rose. Click here to see the Diamine inks together.

Robert Oster Maroon 1789, Robert Oster Astorquiza Rot, and Sailor Jentle Grenade. Click here to see the red inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Pelikan M605 White Transparent on Tomoe River paper. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, it's a nice color, but pretty close to Diamine Burgundy Royale, which is easier to find as a single ink.
