Ink Review #163: Diamine Frosted Orchid
/Today's ink is another from the Diamine Shimmertastic 2017 collection-Frosted Orchid. I purchased my sample of ink from Vanness Pens.
I love that they paired the ink with silver shimmer-I don't think it would have looked nearly as good if they had used gold shimmer.
Dry time: 22 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: None
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: None-there was some bleeding in the large Tomoe River swab, but none in any of the writing.
Other properties: Medium shading, no sheen, and silver shimmer.
On 20 pound copy paper the ink performed perfectly-no problems.
Ink swabs for comparison, left to right (top to bottom for mobile RSS): Diamine Amazing Amethyst, Diamine Frosted Orchid, and Robert Oster Berry d'Arche. Click here to see the Diamine inks together.
Sailor Jentle Fuji-musume, Nemosine Alpha Centauri, and Diamine Bilberry. Click here to see the purple inks together.
One thing I have noticed is that the longer you write the less shimmer you get unless you rotate your pen every few lines or every paragraph.
Overall, the ink is really well behaved and it's really beautiful. I would probably use it the most in the spring.
