/It’s Day 23 of the Diamine Inkvent 2024 Calendar! You can still find the Inkvent Calendar for sale at Levenger, along with a few others. Thanks to Diamine for sending the Inkvent Calendar over for review!
*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.
Swabs:
In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has both blue and green shimmer, and is labeled as a Chameleon ink.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
*For my writing samples I use:
Vintage Mabie Todd Swan (flex nib)
Taroko Enigma notebooks (68gsm TR)
Dry time: 30 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: Low
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: Low
Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and green and blue shimmer.
On 20 lb copy paper the ink had feathering in all nib sizes and some bleeding.
Comparison Swabs:
Pine Needle is yellower than Ferris Wheel Press Moonlit Jade, but not quite as yellow as Diamine Sugar Snap. Click here to see the green inks together.
Longer Writing:
I used a Pelikan M605 Green White, with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has an average flow.
Overall, I love the color of this ink! I do wish it didn’t have shimmer in it, but that’s okay. I don’t know that I quite need a full bottle, but I will definitely use up the small bottle that came in the calendar.
