Ink Review #649: Kingdom Note Mycena Pura

image.png

Kingdom Note inks are made by Sailor and include a lot of small ink collections. They are only sold by Kingdom Note in Tokyo so they can be hard to get in the United States. Mycena Pink, aka lilac bonnet or pink mushroom, is from the Fungi series.

The color:

Mycena Pura is a light, almost cherry blossom pink.

In large swabs you can see some of the pretty shading.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a bit of bleeding and feathering in the flex nib.

I used a TWSBI Eco Pastel Pink with a fine nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a slightly wet flow.

Overall, it’s a lovely pink. It’s well behaved, but it’s a bit light in smaller nib sizes. Unfortunately it’s hard to get in the United States.
