Left to right: Hehuan Blue, Hobe and Shuishalian. Hehuan Blue is a medium, slightly unsaturated blue. Hobe is a darker blue and Shuishalian is a light, brighter blue with a slight green tone.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shadingno sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was lots of feathering in every nib size as well as a lot of bleeding, so I would not recommend these inks for cheap paper.

Comparison Swabs:

Hehuan Blue is a bit darker than Sailor Ink Studio 240 and a bit lighter than Vinta Lucia. Click here to see the Lennon Tool Bar inks together.

I used a Lochby Lined Refill A5 notebook (Tomoe River 68gsm). All of the inks had a wetter than average flow, almost a bit thin and watery.

Overall, these inks are wetter than the average ink but are well behaved-no feathering or bleeding. They even have a little bit of shading. So far these inks are a little bit better behaved than the other Lennon Tool Bar inks I’ve tried, but aren’t as water resistant as the Atmospheric collection I reviewed earlier today.
