Ink Review #657: Monteverde Motivation Orange

mv-motivation-2.jpg

Monteverde Motivation Orange is from the Emotions set, and is an orangey-red. I consider this more of aa winter orange, dark but with enough shading to make it interesting. Thanks to Monteverde for sending the ink over for review.

The color:

Motivation is a dark red-orange.

Swabs:

In large swabs the ink turns darker where it pooled, but doesn’t sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Low

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a bit of bleeding and feathering in the flex nib as well as some feathering in the other nib sizes.

Comparison Swabs:

Motivation is similar to Papier Plume Heart of Gold. Click here to see the Monteverde Inks together, and click here to see the orange inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Pelikan M600 Vibrant Orange with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a slightly wet flow.

Overall, it’s an interesting color, I think it would be a good color to use in the winter. It has a good flow and is well behaved.
