PenBBS Season 27 Part 2
/Let’s take a look at five inks from PenBBS Season 27 today. I purchased these inks from Vanness Pens, but they recently stopped carrying the brand so I’m unsure where you can buy them.
Swabs:
Left to right: Wisteria, Lily of the Valley, Corn Poppy Flower, Honeysuckle and Hollyhock.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
Dry Time: 20-40 seconds
Water Resistance: Low-medium
Feathering: None
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: None
Other properties: Low-medium shading. Wisteria had low gold sheen.
On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size as well as some bleeding.
Comparison Swabs:
Wisteria is a little less saturated than these other purple inks.
Lily of the Valley is brighter than Tono & Lims U & I.
Corn Poppy Fields is closest to Colorverse Hubble Zoom.
Honeysuckle is a little ligher than Inkebara Grass Green.
Hollyhock is closest to Ferris Wheel Press Beaver Dam.
Longer Writing:
All had average flows except Honeysuckle, which was dry.
Overall, Lily of the Valley is my favorite just because I like the color the most.
