Octopus Fluids Write & Draw Pinks

Let’s take a look at three Octopus Fluids Write & Draw inks today. These inks are pigmented, so I would encourage you to clean them a little more often than your average ink. You can find these inks for sale at Vanness Pens.

Swabs:

Left to right: Pink Owl, Pink Gazelle and Pink Alpaca.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 20-30 seconds

Water Resistance: High

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: None

On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size as well as some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Pink Owl is similar to Pilot Irosizuku Tsutsuji. Pink Gazelle is lighter than Pelikan Edelstein Star Ruby.

Pink Alpaca is lighter than these other pink inks.

Longer Writing:

All three had slightly wet flows.

Overall, I really like Pink Owl and Pink Gazelle. Pink Alpaca is a little too light for me for everyday use. Owl and Gazelle are great options if you are looking for a water-resistant pink ink.
