Festive December Ink Palettes

It’s the first of December, so it’s time for some new ink palettes! It’s started snowing occasionally here in Eastern Washington, and I both love and hate the snow. I love seeing it and walking in it but I hate driving in it. I actually love all five of these inks, but Robert Oster Tranquility is always a stand-out for me.

Every December I make gingerbread houses with my kids, and it always involves a lot of frosting. Diamine Silver Fox is an ink I use often-I just love the color, but I enjoy it the most in wetter nibs since it can be pale in smaller nib sizes.

I am woefully behind on my Christmas presents list. I need to get cracking on it. I love Diamine Sherwood Green, it’s a wonderful green for the holidays.

My daughter decided that she wanted the Christmas tree put up on her birthday in November, so our tree has been up for a while. I love Diamine Espresso’s coloring. It’s a fabulous brown ink.

Spooky October Ink Palettes

It’s finally October! Fall is my favorite season, so bring on all the pumpkins and soup and halloween. I love carving pumpkins with my kids-they make the best yuck faces when they try to carve out the seeds. This palette has a few of my favorite inks-I love all Pilot Iroshizuku inks in general, but I especially love Fuyu-syogun and Yu-yake.

It’s soup season! Platinum Carbon Black is probably my favorite of these five inks, but you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Taccia Hokusai-benitsuchi is really underrated. It’s such a good ink for autumn.

Lamy Black is nice and dark, and yet not many people mention it for a dark black.

September Leaves Ink Palettes

It’s the first full week of September, so it’s time for some new ink palettes! It’s still the tail end of summer here in Washington, but I’m already pulling out the fall decorations and buying kids fall clothes. I decided to focus on leaves this month, mainly because I can’t wait for fall to actually hit us. I have a full bottle of Diamine Green Black but don’t reach for it very often. I need to use it more.

I love Taccia Sharaku-kurocha so much! It’s a gorgeous deep brown.

I think Lamy Black is really underrated. It’s a nice deep black.

Diamine Ancient Copper was one of the first ten inks I tried-everyone was raving about it at the time, and I still use it every fall.

August School Ink Palettes

It’s the first Sunday of August, so it’s time for some new ink palettes! This month I decided to focus on a school theme since my kids start school at the end of the month. I love Bungubox Kaoru! It’s not a very common color, and I love how unique it is.

I always think of colored pencils when I think of school. I love all five of these, especially Jacques Herbin Orange Soleil.

I love playing scrabble. Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-peki is my favorite out of these five, but I also really love Kosumosu.

Out of these five, I love Robert Oster Fire and Ice the most. I think it was my first Robert Oster ink, and I still love it.

July Tropical Ink Palettes

It’s the first Sunday of July, so it’s time for some new ink palettes! This month I decided to focus on a tropical theme. These flowers are gorgeous, and all sorts of pretty pinks. Paper Plume Garden District Azalea has been a longtime favorite of mine.

I always think of fruit in the summer. I love all five of these, they’re so bright and cheerful!

My brother and sister-in-law have a few parrots, so I decided to include one this month. Octopus Red Koala is one of my new favorite red inks.

Out of these five, I love KWZ El Dorado the most. It’s a readable yellow with a lot of character.

October Autumn Ink Palettes

It’s October first, so it’s time for some new ink palettes! This Platinum Chou Kuro is one of my new favorite inks! It’s smooth, wet and nice and dark.

Octopus Fluids Black Elephant is a really dark black, but it does have a long dry time.

My ten-year-old is obsessed with Harry Potter right now! Sailor Jentle Black is one of my all-time favorite black inks. It’s just so smooth and juicy, and keeps up when I’m writing multiple pages at a time.

Platinum Carbon Black is another favorite black-I love how water-resistant it is!

June Rainbows Ink Palettes

It’s been too long since I did an ink palettes post, so it’s time! In June I want all the bright happy rainbows of ink. Sailor Jentle Irori has been a long-time favorite red of mine.

It’s so hard to pick a favorite Robert Oster blue, but if I had to it would be Blue Water Ice.

It’s Pride month and the flag fits in with my rainbow theme perfectly! Diamine Apple Glory is such a bright happy green.

Robert Oster Yellow Sunset is one of my favorite yellow inks. Let me know what inks you’re using for June in the comments below!

December Christmas Ink Palettes

Christmas is coming! Christmas is my favorite time of year, I can’t wait to do all of the holiday things. I make a lot of cookies this time of year, and Graf von Faber-Castell Cognac Brown is such a good cookie brown.

I love metallics for wrapping presents! Diamine Brandy Snap is a great golden brown.

My tree is full of metallic glass ornaments. Monarca Arena Blanca is the closest ink I have to a metallic white.

I love all five of these colors together! Diamine Ocher matches almost anything.

I love all five of these inks individually, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Let me know what inks you’re using for December in the comments below!

November Foliage Ink Palettes

We are deep into November and I’m here for all the fall colors. In November I reach for oranges and browns, especially close to Thanksgiving. Colorverse Martian is an ink that’s grown on me over time.

Pastel inks are in fashion right now, so why isn’t anyone talking about Diamine Warm Brown? It’s a lovely pastel brown.

Birmingham Golden Ale was from the now discontinued ink subscription. I wish it was still available because it’s such a good color!

There are so many good inks in this one! KWZ Old Gold is one of my must-haves for fall. Let me know what inks you’re using for November in the comments below!

Mariner 4 is my favorite ink from this palette, I just love the color!

Bungubox 4B is my favorite from this palette, it’s so smooth but unfortunately super pricey too!

This is another palette where I love all five inks. All are on my frequently used list. Let me know what inks you’re using for August in the comments below!
