Van Dieman's Feline Part 3

Van Dieman’s recently released the Feline collection, which includes 15 inks. Let’s talk about five of them today. You can find these inks for sale at Vanness Penss.

Swabs:

Left to right: Tortoiseshell, Mad Half Hour, Ragdoll Kiss, Persian Princess and Purr.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 40 seconds

Water Resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: All had low shading. Tortoiseshell had low green sheen and gold and silver shimmer. Mad Half Hour had blue shimmer. Ragdoll Kiss had purple shimmer. Persian Princess had bronze shimmer.

On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size and some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Tortoiseshell is more red than Diamine Winter Miracle.

Mad Half Hour is closest to Diamine Frosted Orchid.

Ragdoll Kiss is a little lighter than Robert Oster Violet Clouds.

Persian Princess is a little lighter than Colorverse Horsehead Nebula.

Purr is closest to Kyo-no-oto Imayouiro.

Longer Writing:

All of the inks had dry flows. I used a Taroko Enigma notebook.

Overall, Mad Half Hour is my favorite out of the five just because I like the color the best. All five are too dry for me.
