Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: Low-there was some feathering in the larger nib sizes on Rhodia.

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low-there was some bleeding in the larger nib sizes.

Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in every nib size, and some bleeding in the flex and broad nibs.

Comparison Swabs:

Arima Amber is a little bit darker than Golden Ale and Red Orange. Click here to see the Kobe inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Edison Collier Persimmon Swirl on Tomoe River 68gsm. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, it’s pretty well behaved, but it’s a bit unsaturated. I prefer oranges that are a bit brighter.
