Ink Review #509: Kobe 21 Taisanji Yellow

We are finishing up the week with Nagasawa Kobe 21 Taisanji Yellow. Thanks to Pen Chalet for sending a sample over for review. (Right now Kobe inks are 25% off at Pen Chalet).

The color:

Taisanji Yellow is a dark, mustard yellow.

Ink large swabs the ink looks much darker than it does in writing.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 15 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a little bit of feathering, and just a tiny bit of bleeding.

Taisanji Yellow is a little bit lighter than African Gold, but darker than El Dorado. Click here to see the Kobe inks together.

Longer writing:

I used a broad Kaweco Al-sport Rose Gold on Tomoe River 68gsm. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I really like this one. It’s an interesting color, has a good flow, and even dries pretty quickly.
