Ink Review #2496: Ferris Wheel Press Bumbling Blossom

Ferris Wheel Press Bumbling Blossom is from the Once Upon a Time collection. You can find this ink for sale at most retailers including Vanness Pens.

The color:

Bumbling Blossom is a bright hot pink with green shimmer.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has plenty of green shimmer.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and green shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had some feathering and bleeding in the larger nib sizes.

Longer Writing:

I used a Sailor Pro Gear Slim Supernova Red with a broad nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has a dry flow.

Overall, I like the base color, but I don’t think I like the combo with the green shimmer.

Anderillium Cephalopod Inks, Part 1

Today let’s take a look at four inks from the Anderillium Cephalopod series. Anderillium is a new-to-me brand that’s made in Tampa, Florida. Thanks to Enigma Stationery for sending these inks over for review!

Swabs:

Left to right: Colossal Squid Dark, Cuttlefish Brown, Vampire Squid Red and Flapjack Octopus Orange.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 30-80 seconds

Water Resistance: Low-Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: All have low shading.

On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size and some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Colossal Squid Dark is closest to Lamy Obsidian.

Cuttlefish Brown is closest to Sailor Jentle Doyou.

Vampire Squid Red is close to Wearingeul Anne of Green Gables.

Flapjack Octopus Orange is similar to Nemosine Solar Storm.

Longer Writing:

I used a Taroko Enigma notebook. All four had average flows.

Overall, these are lovely, well-behaved inks. Colossal Squid Dark does have a rather long dry time, but other than that I enjoyed them.

Today’s ink is 3 Oysters Haneul from the I.COLOR.U Collection. You can find this ink for sale at most retailers including Vanness Pens.

The color:

Haneul is a bright turquoise blue.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has just a little bit of pink sheen where the ink pooled.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 40 seconds

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, tiny sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had some feathering in all nib sizes.

Longer Writing:

I used a Pilot Vanishing Point Azure with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has a dry flow-I had to prime the feed twice to finish the page.

Overall, the color is so pretty but the flow is way too dry for me.

Overall, I enjoyed the color, it’d be a good color to use in the springtime. I do wish the flow was a bit wetter.
