Journalize Whimsical

Journalize is a new-to-me brand. Let’s take a look at four inks in the Whimsical collection. You can find these inks for sale at Vanness Pens.

Swabs:

Left to right: Cosmic Glinda, Tinker bell, Evil Queen and Hecate.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry Time: 40-60 seconds

Water Resistance: Low-Medium

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: All have low shading and shimmer. Glinda and Evil Queen have red shimmer. Tinkerbell has gold shimmer. Hecate has rose gold shimmer.

On Walmart Pen + Gear copy paper there was some feathering in every nib size and some bleeding.

Comparison Swabs:

Glinda is more orangey than Colorverse a Scorpii.

Tinker bell is closest to Van Dieman’s Seashell.

Hecate and Evil Queen are closest to each other than these other purple shimmer inks.

Longer Writing:

The first two inks had dry flows, the second two had average flows. I used a Taroko Enigma notebook.

Overall, I had fun testing these inks out. Glinda and Tinker bell are too pale and dry for me. Evil Queen and Hecate are pretty similar to each other, you probably don’t need both.
