Ink Review #503: Monteverde Moonstone

We’ve reached the last day of brown ink week-today’s second ink is Monteverde Moonstone, from the Monteverde Gemstone collection.

The color:

Moonstone is a medium, cool-tone brown.

Swabs:

Ink large swabs the ink looks more grey than it does in writing.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was feathering in every nib size, and some bleeding in the flex and broad nibs.

Longer writing:

I used a medium Pilot Vanishing Point Crossed Links on an ivory Hippo Noto Notebook. The ink had a wet flow.

Overall, I really love this ink. It’s affordable, the color is interesting, has a cool tone and a wet flow. I’m adding a full bottle to my wish list!
