Ink Review #659: Monteverde Peace Blue

mv-peace-2.jpg

Monteverde Peace Blue is another ink from the Emotions set, it’s somewhere between a blue and a purple, a “blurple” if you will. Thanks to Monteverde for providing this ink for review.

The color:

Peace Blue is a dark blue that leans a bit purple.

Swabs:

In large swabs you can see the small pop of bronzy sheen.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

Dry time: 30 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: medium shading, low sheen, and no shimmer.

On Staples 24 lb copy paper there was a bit of bleeding and feathering in the larger nib sizes as well as some feathering in the smaller nib sizes.

Comparison Swabs:

Peace is similar to Monteverde Sapphire, they aren’t too far off each other. Another similar ink is Colorverse Quasar. Click here to see the Monteverde Inks together, and click here to see the blue inks together.

Longer Writing:

I used a Pelikan M605 White Transparent with a medium nib on Tomoe River paper. The ink had a wet flow.

Overall, it’s another great blue from Monteverde, but it is pretty similar to Monteverde Sapphire, so you probably don’t need both.
