Ink Review #2405: Scribo Rosa Antico

Scribo Rosa Antico is from the standard collection. You can find this ink for sale at most retailers including Vanness Pens.

The color:

Rosa Antico is a pale rose pink.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink looks almost brown.

Writing samples:

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 40 seconds

Water resistance: Low

Feathering: None

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: None

Other properties: low shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had some feathering and bleeding in the larger nib sizes.

Longer Writing:

I used a Diplomat Aero Antique Rose with a broad nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink has a dry flow.

Overall, this ink is too pale and dry for me. I wanted to like it, but it’s just not the ink for me.

Ink Review #2005: Scribo Rosso Chianti

Scribo Rosso Chianti is from Scribo’s standard collection. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Rosso Chianti is a deep wine red.

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink is darker, almost purple.

On 20 lb copy paper the ink had some feathering and some bleeding in all nib sizes.

I used a Pilot Custom 74 Merlot with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had a slightly dry flow.

Overall, I love the color and it’s well behaved, I just wish the flow was a bit wetter.

Nero Nero is a medium black.

Arancio di Sicilia is a bright red-orange.

I love to use teal inks in June so let’s start off some teal inks with Scribo Verde Mediterraneo. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Verde Mediterraneo is a deep teal.

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has a little bit of pinkish teal.

Overall, this is a pretty summery green but it can be too light in the smaller nib sizes. I like it best in a wet broad nib.

Overall, I’m not a big fan of the color of this ink. Overall it’s pretty well behaved, but it’s just not the color for me.

Overall, I enjoyed this ink. It’s well behaved and a pretty color. There are a lot of dark green inks just slightly darker or lighter, so it’s not a must-have if you already have something close, but it’s a good green ink on its own.

Seppia is a medium brown with a red undertone.

Overall, this is a nice, well-behaved brown ink, if slightly dry. There’s just nothing about it that jumps out at me and says “you need me!”
