Ink Review #1756: Van Dieman's Tasmanian Robin Pink

Van Dieman’s Tasmanian Robin Pink is from the Colours of Tasmania collection. You can find this ink for sale at most retailers including Vanness Pens.

The color:

Robin Pink is a bright bubblegum pink.

*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.

Swabs:

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink has some shading, but also shows some feathering.

Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.

*For my writing samples I use:

Dry time: 20 seconds

Water resistance: Medium

Feathering: Medium

Show through: Medium

Bleeding: Low

Other properties: no shading, no sheen, and no shimmer.

On 20 lb copy paper there is some feathering in the larger nib sizes and a little bit of bleeding.

Longer writing:

I used a TWSBI Eco Pink with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had an average flow.

Overall, I love the color of this ink but I don’t like how much feathering and bleeding there is. This ink is a pass for me, simply based on behavior.

Ink Review #1755: Ferris Wheel Press Double Raspberry

The color:

Double Raspberry is a bright raspberry pink.

Overall, I enjoyed this ink. It’s a pretty color and behaves well. The only downside is the dry flow, which I easily fixed with a drop of White Lightning (ink additive).

La Union is a bright raspberry pink.

I used a TWSBI Eco Blossom Red with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had an average but slightly sticky flow.

Overall, this ink is pretty well behaved, but there are a lot of similar inks out there so this is not a must-have color for me.

Ink Review #1753: Colorverse Anita

Colorverse Anita comes in a 15ml bottle in a set along with a 65ml bottle of Arabella (which I reviewed separately). You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.

The color:

Anita is a dark pink-brown.

In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink looks more brown in spots than pink.

I used a Diplomat Aero Antique Rose with a broad nib and a Sailor Pro Gear Sparkling Pink with a broad nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The inks had average flows.

Overall, I could go either way on this set. They are generally well behaved, but the color doesn’t wow me. I don’t need full bottles of either one.

Overall, I enjoyed both of these inks. They are generally well behaved and fun colors.

Overall, this is a nice blue ink but there are a lot of similar blues out there, so I don’t need a full bottle of this one.
