Ink Review #1885: Inkebara Deer Brown
/Inkebara Deer Brown is from Inkebara’s Special Edition collection. You can find this ink for sale at Vanness Pens.
*For my swab cards I use a Col-o-ring by Skylab Letterpress, a medium Pilot Ishime and a Mabie Todd Swan.
Swabs:
In large swabs on Tomoe River paper the ink looks much darker.
Writing samples:
Let's take a look at how the ink behaves on fountain pen friendly papers: Rhodia, Tomoe River, and Leuchtturm.
*For my writing samples I use:
Vintage Mabie Todd Swan (flex nib)
Taroko Enigma notebooks (68gsm TR)
Dry time: 50 seconds
Water resistance: Low
Feathering: None
Show through: Medium
Bleeding: None
Other properties: medium shading, low black sheen, and no shimmer.
On 20 lb copy paper the ink did really well-no feathering or bleeding.
Comparison Swabs:
Deer Brown is closest to Robert Oster Khakhi. Click here to see the brown inks together.
Longer writing:
I used a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise with a medium nib on a Taroko Enigma notebook. The ink had an average flow.
Overall, I really enjoyed this ink. It’s an interesting color and well-behaved. I would use this ink most often in the autumn season.
